To walk around the lake is 1.3 miles, ish. Mostly level with some small undulations. The track is unmade but is a fine compacted material but a little too much for a wheel chair.
There are kids swings and slides along with canoeing etc.

It is a nice walk around the lake, if your dog gets muddy there is a washing station with warm water where you can swill it down at a cost of 50p, you will need to take your own towel to dry the dog.

We often come here for a walk round the lake.
However today the parking machines were not taking coins and, although the train was running, there was no access to any toilets nor was the cafe open.

Great place for a stroll . Theres even a walkway to nearby Sandal Castle .

I sailed there every week for five years, but last year the council cut funding to it. Completely dead now, really disappointing. There used to be a really vibrant community and it was sad watching it die.
