Darlington is a lovely old station with enough modern touches to allow your wait for a train fairly comfortable. My only complaint is the parking and getting in and out of the station

An important station with a great history. Brilliant station to travel from where you can travel direct or connect to a lot of towns and cities. Staff are friendly and the facilities are good. Taxis always avaliable

Darlington Station has a pleasingly nostalgic ambience, and a presence that is far greater than its actual operational size. The Grade II Listed building has just four platforms, set beneath an impressive glass canopy reminiscent of 19th Century hothouses. Reassuringly small, therefore easy to navigate,...More

Darlington has a lot to offer and when arriving/leaving from the train station, the people/staff are always so friendly. The shops are all stocked with delights and the friendly nature that's required for customer facing.

There are barriers with staff so you would need their permission which I am sure they would not withold. If it very late the gates may well be left open.
