This is a great place to visit. There are some great walks, good play areas for the kids and a nice cafe. We visited on a hot summer day and it was awesome. Give it a go.

Why pay to park. Have just returned from some beautiful walks around Yorkshire reservoirs which had excellent facilities, of which none charged for parking. Also paying to park and only use cafe makes for an expensive coffee and bun.

Had a lovely walk around Alton Water, great location with easy parking for me and the family. Didn’t even know this place existed until recently when a friend of the family told us. Nice to see lots of families enjoying themselves. Definitely recommend a visit.

Excellent site for the event and well organised, would be nice to see matting down between the changing area and the lake side though as many people having to walk barefoot over dusty sharp gravel/sub-base material, also meant my partner had to stand around with...More

Walked here and saw lots of water birds, moorhen, swans, geese, terns, grebe. Lovely lakeside walk with free parking. Approx 8 miles around whole lake but can do as much or little as you like. Tranquil, peaceful setting.
