We found the museum too small, we were in and out in an hour! My children found it boring wanting to leave! I enjoyed the exhibits on the local Ipswich history. You don’t have to pay which is fair, but donations are welcome.

This museum needs to ditch the stuffed animals since zoos and TV can do so much better. The pre-historical side of it was good but the 2 world wars were muddled in together which would make it impossible for younger visitors to understand.

We really enjoyed going to Ipswich museum and planned going to Christchurch mansion on the same day. We parked next to Christchurch Park and had a nice walk first. Staff are friendly and it brings the history alive.

An excellent example of a Victorian Museum in the centre of town. A wonderful and interesting pictorial history of Ipswich awaits the visitor on the upper floors.

My son loves visiting the museum and seeing the huge woolly mammoth! Lots of great sections from Egyptian to WWII to discover. A great rainy day activity.
