This museum needs to ditch the stuffed animals since zoos and TV can do so much better. The pre-historical side of it was good but the 2 world wars were muddled in together which would make it impossible for younger visitors to understand.

We really enjoyed going to Ipswich museum and planned going to Christchurch mansion on the same day. We parked next to Christchurch Park and had a nice walk first. Staff are friendly and it brings the history alive.

An excellent example of a Victorian Museum in the centre of town. A wonderful and interesting pictorial history of Ipswich awaits the visitor on the upper floors.

My son loves visiting the museum and seeing the huge woolly mammoth! Lots of great sections from Egyptian to WWII to discover. A great rainy day activity.

This is a deceptively large museum. You enter to see the large mammoth and vast collection of stuffed animals, which is cool. Only in small letters does it tell you there were Mammoths in Suffolk. Wow, that's cool - but make a bigger deal of...More

Wow. What a great afternoon spent at Ipswich museum. Free admission as it is funded by the local council. Would definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys this sort of thing.
