We love visiting the museum

Myself and my children have visited the museum many times. Always a good rainy day activity with lots to see and do, especially during the holidays.

My 5 year old loves this museum. There are lots of things to explore and a really impressive collection of Egyptian artefacts. Considering it's free, I cannot fault it!

The museeum is great for families as there is so much to interest all age groups. Stuffed animals - including the rhino! - fossils, insects birds, artefacts, displays all set over different floors. Visitors cant fail to be fascinated by the displays and information available. A "must visit" place of interest, learning and culture.

I have been to this museum many times. I love its exhibitions. It's a "must see" Ipswich attraction, and it's free! Great for a "rainy day" or a boiling hot summer day - with or without kids. Perfect day out for the family or alone. Highly recommend.

We were given a warm and enthusiastic welcome, a lady explained the layout of the building and the main attractions. A party of school children were in the first room listening carefully to a staff member explaining about catching animals in Ice Age times. Displays, some in Victorian cabinets, are clearly labelled. The museum houses the Ogilvie British Bird Collection... More

Lived in Suffolk for 8 years and tipped of about the Ipswich museum by a friend yesterday - visited today and was so impressed, the main entrance hall is packed and there are dozens of extra rooms with loads to look at. Took my 4 and 6 year old and they loved it, but so did I!! The coin haul... More

Loved bringing my children to this museum where I used to go as a child. Lots of interesting exhibits clearly labelled and staff were very helpful, and the activity sheets were useful.

Yes it was a rainy day on this my first visit but I saw plenty of reasons to come again, come rain or shine. There were so many "wow" exclamations as we trekked from room to room through the maze of amazing exhibits all displayed in Ipswich! Wow! I was especially drawn to the cultural and world religious exhibits but... More

I have been going to Ipswich Museum since I was knee high and took all three kids there regularly as they were growing up. Now they are all adults but I still regularly visit here whenever I am back in my home town. So many great exhibits including many from the late 1800's and early 1900s. The rhino and giraffe...
