Fantastic attraction with an amazing story - just 30 years ago, the plan was to make this into a car park. Whilst surveying, they found miles of bronze age tunnels and a vast chamber, all dug by hand. Great story, take your time to go...More

Could not recommend going to see the copper mines enough. They are both beautiful and educational, a find that completely re-writes the history that you have been previously taught.

We got off the tram at the Half Way station, and walked to the mine. Quite a walk but wasn't so bad going down to the mine from the road. There is a little film you watch first about the discovery of the mine, and...More

Even though we live locally, we had never visited this attraction. Visited with family and we were very pleasantly surprised how good it was and how much information there is in a easy read format. It is £7 per head and well worth it. You...More

We tentatively decided to check it out after noticing it had an admission fee of 7 pounds an adult but it was worth it. The journey underground down to two levels was amazing and wish it was possible to explore the whole nine or so...More

We spotted this from the roadside and had to go into this historic find. You do have to wear a hard hat and venture under ground into the mines on foot but it is safe with hand rails and lit well great for children interested...More

Had passed by on pervious visits, to my loss. When breaking your tram journey half way up, be sure to walk across to the mines. Fascinating under and overground experience. The premier Bronze age experience, second onlt to Stonehenge in my opinion.

Sorry for the delay in answering this question, only just found it. The 6&8 year olds will probably love it, the passages in the mine are quite twisty and narrow if it is a front carrier for the baby it should be ok as you... More

Hi David, The underground trip is 200 metres long, there are 35 steps down and the same up again. You need to be fairly steady on your feet to be able to manage the tour.
