My visit to Ang Thong National Marine Park revealed a natural wonderland, characterised by stunning landscapes and captivating marine experiences.

The boat journey (organised by a local tour operator) offered panoramic views of clear blue skies, accentuating the pristine nature of the surroundings. Engaging in snorkeling and kayaking activities provided a firsthand encounter with the park's vibrant coral reefs.

The challenging trail to the viewpoints demanded physical exertion but rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The opportunity to reach elevated peaks and absorb the breathtaking scenery was undoubtedly a highlight.

The clarity of the water, visibility of coral and fish, and the overall stunning views underscored the park's natural magnificence.

From the pristine beaches to the emerald lake, the park itself stands as a must-visit destination.

This was one of the highlights of our stay in Koh Samui. We booked a speed boat tour, with RS Ruangsri Samui Speed Boat Tour, through our hotel. It was easy, we were picked up around 7am. Drive around Samui picking up other people. Had breakfast and a briefing around 8.30 and by about 9am we were on the boat and on our way.

The boat takes about an hour perhaps. It was quite busy but not a problem. When you arrive at the park you can see that the journey was worth it.

The snorkelling spot was OK. Nice and deep but we didn’t see many fish. It was however quite chaotic getting off the boat and into the water with my 11 year old daughter but it was worth it.

We stopped at a couple of places, it was all stunning, breathtaking. Eventually we stopped off for lunch which was average rice and chicken but the setting was amazing.

The point where you can go up the viewpoint we decided not to bother as it was extremely hot, even in August and instead we spent well over an hour just floating around in the blissful settings. The water is crystal clear and as warm as a bath. The backdrop of icon and inspiring. We too a LOT of selfies. We are pleased we stayed in the water it felt extremely special to us.

We then went kayaking, which to be honest wasn’t needed. The tour over ran by about an hour. My daughter fell fast asleep on the boat back as did many other people. At the end of the day there was clapping for the crew etc. it was a really special and worthwhile trip.

It costs about 2,000 baht each. So on the cheaper side. It was a bit chaotic at times but the memories were for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

The stunning scenery is exactly as seen in all the brochures and media !!
Mountains rising from the sea , aquamarine color water , spectacular viewpoints and an unforgettable speed boat ride !!
We had a semi private Speed Boat ( about 8 other people only ) so we could do a lot of things easily and with more comfort.
Snorkeling and kayaking stops in beautiful coves .......or you can just relax on the beach / coves etc
Emerald Lake , Lunch and an exhilarating speed boat ride all added to the best day tour from Samui !!

Took the speed boat Get your Guide day trip. Boat was very bumpy esp on way back. Many people got seasick even after taking Dramamine since the waves were high and we were flying up and down like a roller coaster for an hour each way. Life jackets were on top of boat so not helpful if we needed them. Beautiful hike but need good shoes. Fun day other than boat! Think seriously if you can handle speed boat!

Exploring Ang Thong National Marine Park in Koh Samui was a nature lover’s dream come true, offering pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush tropical landscapes.

The park’s collection of islands provided endless opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking. Witnessing the stunning Emerald Lake at Mae Ko Island and the vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The knowledgeable guides and their commitment to preserving the park’s natural beauty added depth to the adventure. Ang Thong National Marine Park’s dedication to conservation and eco-friendly practices was evident throughout.

Visiting this marine park is a must for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of Koh Samui.

We took the Samui Island Tour to Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park. The tour costs 1,000 Baht including transport from hotel, breakfast, and lunch. The tour company picked us from our hotel on Chaweng Beach at 7:30 am. We took a big wooden boat to Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park in one hour and 40 minutes. The first stop was the Blue Lagoon which was beautiful. The steps to Blue Lagoon were steep. We had buffet lunch on the boat. The second and last stop was Ko Wua Ta Lap. We climbed to Pha Chan Charat Viewpoint in 30 minutes or 450 meters. The hike was moderate for people with good health. My wife didn’t hike. My son and I hiked to the top. The views were beautiful and worth hiking. The tour staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t have time for swimming because we were tired. We didn’t do kayaking. Highly Recommended.

I highly recommend the day trip via boat. We used Oceana Samui Charters (booked from the Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui) and they were excellent. It took 45 minutes or so to get to the national park area from Koh Samui. We snorkeled along a coral reef with lots of fish, and spent some time at a nearby beach. At lunch at a little fishing village and saw some Great Hornbills there. Also hiked up to see the Emerald Lake. It's worth the climb, but just know that the stairs are very steep and it takes about 20 minutes to go up.
