- kristi b26 contributionsThe fjord of LightLysefjorden is translated as The Fjord of Light. Before Stavanger our ship have stopped in Bergen. Agency vinoltours which services I ordered in Bergen also organised for me and 2 families from our ship private yacht journey in Lysefjorden from Stavanger port. We were 8 guests on board. Price per hour 5000NOK (500 EUR). Considerable. The Yacht was very comfortable. We managed to come to the middle of Lysefjorden and then back to the ship. Unforgettable!Visited August 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 25 January 2023

I also liked seeing all the waterfalls. The Boat was very good except for the lack of seating on the top deck. All the views were amazing.Visited June 2023Written 25 June 2023
- webber5Fordingbridge, United Kingdom648 contributionsStunning sceneryWe docked in to Stavanger on the QM2 and had booked prior to arriving. There was a kiosk near where we docked to collect or buy tickets. We booked a three hour cruise to see the Fjords through Rodne. The boat was spacious with seating inside and outside. We were not disappointed definitely worth the money. The cruise was simply stunning - the scenery amazing and the commentary informative.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 3 September 2023

The fjord was great, even with the rain. We took the Rodne catamaran, which was very comfortable and gives great options for views and photographs. Don't miss that trip.

One of the nicest experiences in my life. A pleasant hiking with a superb landscape and a dreaming final in the Preikestolen over the Lysefjord. There are a lot of persons but thanks that you have to hike for a couple of hours goong up and a couple of hours going down , it is stiil magic. If there was a parking close to the Preikestolen it should be terrible. Keep it as it is

Fantastic cruise, not to be missed. The view and the cruise of the fjord were terrific. The sightseeing along the way gave a wonderful look at everything around it.

Kind of an average fjord for Norway does not compare to Geiranger and Flam. History was interesting.

We took a cruise to see Pulpit Rock. From the boat I have to say we were disappointed. It just doesn't look that impressive from the water. I'm sure from the top it would be amazing.

We took an excursion from our cruise ship - a 3 hour boat trip up the fjord, going past Pulpit Rock. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, we had never imagined such beauty in a landscape. It was a lovely sunny day and the boat slowed down often to allow you to take photos including going very close to a lovely waterfall. The boat has a large inside seating area but you could also go outside on two decks. There was also a coffee and waffle stop about halfway at a scenic café. This was a major highlight of our cruise for sure.

Hi,
Go to the main left peer inside the city (500m from the cathedral) and you can buy your ticket directly on board (at least, it was the case when I came on sunday). otherwise on the same left peer, 500m further there's the tourist information center. Enjoy the sail and the view.

I am going on a hike around Lysefjord in the middle - to late July. My problem though is wether i should pack provisions for the eight days it most likely is going to take, or if there is any shops, restaurants and grocery stores, along the hiking trails.
We are going to be using a tent, so any shops that is not connected to the huts and campsites.
Thank you.

God morning. I dont think there are so many shops and restaurants around Lysefjorden, so I had taken with me suply and food for the trip. I know that in the sentrum of Lysefjorden are there shops, but I am not sure on the road to Lysefjorden.
