We almost didn't go because of a bad review that said that that "there was a steep and narrow pathway" and that "it was not worth the trip". Well, I'm so glad we decided to forge ahead with this little adventure. First, we took a...More

Beautiful building located in the middle of a small forest. The detail on the wooden roof is amazing and the inside is beautiful. Felt like I was at the Norway pavilion in Epcot Center. Only negative is the price. Seems a bit high, about $30...More

This little church was a truly magical place and it's definitely worth a visit. We took a tram from Bergen and then a 10 minute walk to find a wooded area where the church is. I'd never seen this style of church before but it...More

Beautiful construction and impressive details made by hand. Founded in 1150 and although destroyed, later rebuilt and changed of place. It is a gem not to be forgotten.

If you have a couple of hours to spare I would highly recommend taking the metro and stopping by to see this church. It's located in a creepy entrance of a park and the small church seems to appear out of nowhere when you get...More

If you are on a tour, this will likely be a stop. If you are on your own, it is interesting to see, but the distance needed to travel there may be a negative. You can only see it from the outside, with no inside...More

Thinking about taking public transit/LRT out to Stave, however wondering how frequently transit service is. Wouldn't want to get out there only to have to wait a long time for transit in order to get back into Bergen.

We took the public transit out and back with no problem. I would check to make sure it is open. It's a little hike up to the church.
