This is a great walk. There is water only at the begin / end stations. You can walk it or run it, either way, a great day out. Well worth doing.

This was a truly beautiful hike, with great views! We saw many sheep and were lucky to have a clear day. And, there weren't that many people (did it from Mt. Ulriken to Floyen -- more people on the Floyen stretch). Should say that this is to most Americans a challenging hike. It requires hiking shoes (proper boots or good trail running sneakers with a thick sole) and scrambling on slippery and sharp rocks. We're experienced hikers, so no problem. But don't think this is an easy little walk between mountains!

Really loved this hike. The four of us decided to do Ulriken to Floyen and I 100% recommend doing it that way. You’re looking at 40NOK for the light rail to the cable car, 210NOK for the cable car up to Ulriken and 85NOK down Mount Floyen.
The last 3km of this hike is demanding on the knees because it’s mostly downhill. The views are really spectacular and I don’t think the photos do it justice. We had really good weather.
It really is rocky and muddy. Wear hiking shoes and appropriate clothing. I wouldn’t really take children on this hike as you’re scaling steep rocks at times and balancing yourself over small swamps.
The comments about sharp rocks are also very valid, so be weary of this.
Very well worth it.

We did the hike yesterday, it was a sunny day with beautiful weather, but i DO not recommend this trail unless you are really into long hike with the same views. It feels like just hiking for the hiking shakes. Yes it was all green and beautiful lakes but 4.5 hrs with the same view, let alone the rocky and muddy trail.

We had our good hiking shoes - we just did Trolltunga and Kjerag hike within the last 7 days. The view up there is nothing spectacular, just long, long, long walk.

The most beautiful views are at the cable car station and funicular station, so don’t waste your energy unless u really into long distance boring hike.

The sunset was so beautiful yesterday but we arrived at funicular station at 10.50pm and has no mood/energy to continue the last one hour down to the city so rush to buy ticket for last train down. So upset that we did not get to enjoy the best view part. Should have just walk up to the upper Floibanen station and enjoy the view with peace.

The starting and ending part signboards are very misleading and not clear, often there is no clear sign at junctions. At some points the signs are not clear too - at one point it shows 3.9km left when we hike 1.5km up it say 4.6km left … so frustrating. I doubt it is 14km from end to end, maybe 18-19km.

We did the hike in rather fast paced in 4.5 hrs with 20 mins dinner break. Before that we hiked 40 mins up to the cable car station as well from Montana.

We love hiking - but i will not recommend the whole hike, just do the hike up and down from cable car station and up and down from Floibanen station, both views are great.

This trail has stunning views and beautiful scenery. But I wanted to write this review because I am absolutely in awe of Norwegian hikers. They navigate this trail like it is a simple stroll along a ridge. They are sure-footed and have impressive balance. But my family struggled quite a bit with this trail … so much so that we turned around after 5 km. It was endless rock formation after rock formation. The rocks are jagged and uneven. For those of us used to smoother trails, it was very challenging. The elevation gain is moderate, but in my opinion what makes this trail so hard is the rocks. But if you go in knowing that, it is a wonderful hike.

My son and I took the gondola up Mt. Ulriken and walked in the snow to Mt. Floyen and then into downtown Bergen. It was a wonderful hike! It took us about 6 hours because we moved slowly due to a lot of snow. Except for the start, the trail was well marked. Wehad to ask an employee at the gondola station where the trail began and she was very helpful. This activity was well worth doing. Great views and a good adventure.

I didn`t give the highestscore for this mountain hike because it was more difficult for me that I expected. The most of hikers are doing this tour for 4-5 hours. I spent more than7 hours. The length of the trailway is around 17-18km in total. in many places difficult to walk. We were jumping from stone to stone. I needed many breaks for the rest. But for good fit people this is very iteresting variant how to spend one day in the mountains

We have done one half of mountain Floyen - mountain Ulriken tour. We had another type of hike that day. Views of the North sea from the top are amazing.

You need stamina and stregnth to complete this 13 km circle of Bergen which offers beautful views over the city, the islands and the distant fjords. Accessible via cable car from both ends- allow 5 hours at least to enjoy comfortably. If the weather is fine, it is a dream walk, if it had rained heavily, it would have been unpleasant and dangerous in parts.

The hike between Ulriken and Floyen took us 4.5hours with a stop for lunch. The first 2/3 of the route starting at Ulriken were slower going and a lot more technical requiring scrambling and a couple short but steep declines and inclines navigating the rocks. For this section it is a proper hike. The final third to Floyen was a formal path and a lot easier going. We had a misty day but we got some nice breaks in the cloud and the views were great. The mist added a bit of mystery also. We didn’t actually realise you can see the full extent of the route until we were in the final third to Floyen when the cloud started to clear. For the experience we took the cable car up Ulriken and down Floyen, you can hike these sections also. All in a good hike with a great sense of achievement at the end. Well worth using an app like All Trails to confirm your route, particularly if it is low cloud/mist as see you could easily take the wrong route.
