Our cruise ship was docked in Bergen and we did this cable car trip independently There is a huge tourist information office near the fish market which is a 5 minute walk from the port. The tourist office sells tickets to all the main attractions and the shuttle bus for the cable car is a 2 minute walk from the... More

...be prepared for long queues. We bought our tickets from the stand on Torgallmenningen where the tour bus stops, and had to wit around 45mins to get on. We then had to wait at Ulriken for over an hour. That put paid to some of the other things we had anted to do in the limited time we had. It's... More

Nice panoramic view of the city. Just make sure that the weather is good, or you will only see a white background.

Very cloudy afternoon and nothing can be seen over 10m away; besides it is crazy that the ticket counter does not accept VISA cards or the like (only cash)

After waiting an hour we called the number on the brochure to find out that the driver had overslept. The caller said we should wait and then hung up. Another hour later the bus still didn't show so we went to do something else. In one word: unprofessional.

I'm not a hiker, but I still enjoyed every bit of the hike for this one. It took me about 2 hrs to hike from where the lift starts to the top. I would recommend wearing the best shoes (which for me was just my running shoes because I'm backpacking Europe and it was fine) you have and pack light.... More

If you can be patient and deal with a slight 20 min wait at the cable car station in town, you'll be rewarded with stunning views up at the summit. If you further stomach a 15km difficult to moderate hike along a rocky Vidden trail that starts at the Mount Ulriken cable car station and ends at the Floyen funicular... More

Long slow queues to catch the cable car so allow plenty of time to travel up & down. Well worth the trip as the views over Bergen were brilliant. We caught the ulriken bus from town & back but it wasn't very reliable - said it arrived every half hour but didn't arrived back to cable car till 15 past... More

I absolutely agree that the view was amazing. I took bus from bus-station and continued by taking cable car from ulriken643. I very recommend you to check their website and the weather forecast before go to the place. Sometimes it is closed because of bad weather. When I went up,the weather was very windy and cold. Beside that, at the... More
