I was there for X-russfest, so never been inside the fortress, but it has decent view. You can see all the city and beautiful Nidelva(river) streaming through the city.

Took the trip uphill to the fortress with the promise of great city views only to find the trees so overgrown that the view was obscured and lots of construction works on the fortress itself which restricted access.
