This is a small museum behind the Cathedral. Whilst it appears old on the outside, inside it has a modern style and displays many examples of relics of building parts - columns, floors etc. from the one time palace.

Great exhibition. Old things from excavations in Trondheim, and the time when this was headed for the church in Norway. Here is also Norway's national regimes located. Great that they can be presented to the general public.

If you're going to go to the Nidaros cathedral, you should do everything in the area and get the combination ticket. The exhibits have a lot of history and displays which show you more about old Trondheim!

An excellent museum explaining all the various functions (including non-religious) functions of a Cathedral in medieval times. Contains many interesting artifacts.

It was such a great addition to our visit to the cathedral. Best to get a combined ticket from the visitors center for just 160 krons. This gets you access to the cathedral, the royal crowned jewels and the archbishops palace :)

A Great Place to visit in Trondheim Norway. I really enjoyed the area where the coins were minted and the tile floor which kept workers from burying coins under the dirt floors. The highlight however was the “Kings Regalia” where we got to see the...More

This museum houses original pieces from the cathedral, which was devastated by fires in the 1700s. It's interesting to see what's left of them, and see how they were used as inspiration for the cathedral's restoration. I recommend viewing the the cathedral first, then go...More

The archaeology that has been discovered gives a fascinating insight to life of the people in medieval times as well as the ecclesiastical role of the bishop and the restoration of the cathedral.
