We were looking for information on where we could go bouldering. Although they had not heard of it they rang some other offices and came up with all the information we could want. They even printed out maps and itineraries for us. They were happy to converse in English and made us feel very welcome

We visited the Tourist Information to plan a trip for our one full day in Kristiansand. It transpires that after 15th August, some of the attractions shut down as the summer is deemed to be over and the kids go back to school. The staff at the tourist information were as helpful as they could be but there was not... More

Kristiansand is a scenic southern tip of Norway. It is a summer green city surrounded by fjords perfect for sailing/fishing or other holiday spot beside being the country's business and cultural centre. It is well known that the number of sunshine days here is the most among all Norwegian cities and so the local people also like to come here... More

Visited Kristiansand by cruise as our final port and to be honest after seeing such beautiful villages at our other ports were somewhat disappointed on arriving here. Initially it seemed quite pretty with the charming bridges, walkways and scented flowers but when you venture into the centre it is just like any other city - plenty of shops all of... More

We didn't actually visit the Info Center, but we used the on-line site extensively. We loved the information boards posted throughout the city. We were there on a sunny day, so followed the "recommended walking route" and were simply amazed by the beautiful natural and historic sites along the way. The boards explained historical and fun facts and kept us... More

We arrived at Kristiansand by Cruise ship and did a day tour of the Town and surrounding area. The township has a population of around 85000 and student population of 8000 according to our guide. Norway is sparsely populated with 5 million people. Kristiansand was founded by the King of Denmark of the same name (Kristian, in the 17th Century.... More

A very pretty little fishing village with cobbled streets and a rustic charm! The marina has a boardwalk and is surrounded by small bridges restaurants and shops. The historical area of Posebyen is a 'listed' area of original white wooden houses giving the town real character. In the town centre, the beautiful Kristiansand Cathedral (3rd largest in Norway) is surrounded... More

What a pretty little place and such charming people! The Old Town has been burned down several times in it's history but has now survived, in tact, since the 18th century. The picturesque little wooden houses shone white and well loved on the hillside above the port. This is a real photo opportunity. Be careful when buying souvenirs, however, as two... More
