Regional Art Museum with an interesting collection of art from the Southernmost region of Norway. The museum is also showing high quality exhibitions of Norwegian and international contemporary art. It also has its own Children's Art Museum, a sharming museum shop and a houses the coffeebar MeanBean. Free Wifi. 2015 Marks the 20th anniversary for SKMU. In our anniversary exhibition we have invited 33 contemporary artists working in and coming from the region. Crossing over different generations of artists working with a multitude of artistic approaches this is a celebration of the local art scene. In our collection we are showing works connected to the regional art history and history, for instance Olaf Isaachsen's paintings from the town fire in 1892. Do not miss out on this summer's international art exhibition with a huge 3D modell of a Black Widow spider's web in Tomas Saraceno's "14 Billions (Working Title)from.

Probably not for the casual museum go-er, but if you have an interest in art well worth checking out. A very cool museum experience. Interesting exhibits and the staff is very knowledgeable. Enjoy!
