Wonderful food stalls, Great restaurants. Lively atmosphere. Lots of families. This is a great place to meet friends, people watch, or have a bit of "me" time with a good cup of coffee. Highly recommended!

Fun old & new architecture, a food hall full of all types of dining— casual and less so, music venues, chill coffee shops, grocery storesbars, music & performance venues, & walking paths along the river. And the hip shops & venues of Grünerlokka right next door. Also adjacent to some of the oldest buildings & cemeteries in Oslo. I highly recommend this neighborhood as a base to visitors.

Next to in Vulkan and mathallen you will find a door that leads to an elevator that takes you to the eighth floor and the secret rooftop bar in this area. There are usually know science this is a local secret but ask any other bar for the location they will gladly help you to find the secret elevator.

Here you can drink champagne wine and beer until the late hours in the summer sun

We're city people and enjoy seeing different neighborhoods so we walked here, although I'm sure there are trams and things. There is a great food hall here packed with fun places to sit and ear or grab a bite. We were there in mid afternoon and ended up sitting outside at one of the nearby cafes watching people and their kids walking by. Then we walked up the little river to see a small waterfall. If you want to get away from the touristy stuff- worth checking out.

This once industry-heavy bank of the river Akerselva is at the moment one of Oslo’s most interesting neighborhoods.

The area is full of innovative eco-friendly architecture. For example, there is a local energy center with 300-meter deep geothermal wells.

The most important sight is Oslo's first food hall. You can also find two hotels, apartments, office spaces, cultural venues, cafes, restaurants, and bars.

Great area to walk and dine. Vulkan Neighbourhood offers modern yet stylish architecture. It is one of the city "cool places" that anyone (even conservative traditionalists) could and would enjoy.

Oslo deserves some kudos for doing the development around the food hall right, despite high volume, it does not feel to massive and works well in the landscape. Good place to hang out on lazy days.

A nice area with a lot restaurants- coffee shops and places where you can just have a beer. There are also many events which take place in that area. Very easy to access (it is between Grünerløkka and Torshov).
