Overview
More
"One of the oldest cinemas in Europe (dating back to 1907), Parkteatret is now a 500-capacity music venue with an excellent reputation for Norwegian and international acts. The former projection room is now a tiny recording studio but much of the original decor remains. On Sundays it downsizes to a small stage and showcases local talent." (The Guardian, UK) Parkteatret Scene is an old cinema from 1907 now functioning mainly as a concert venue with a capacity of 500. Our main focus is pop/rock, but the venue is also great for indie, bluegrass, country, rockabilly, jazz and blues. We often have either a concert or disco for children on Sundays. Apart from concerts, theres often documentary films or other kinds of movie nights on Wednesdays, often with debates or discussions on the topics raised. The old foyer of the cinema now hosts Parkteatret Bar, which is popular for its wide selection of quality drinks, good coffee and good music. The bar has a nice outdoor seating area, perfect for sunny days with a nice cold drink. Parkteatret Bar also serves as a nice venue for smaller concerts, releases etc. Parkteatret is situated in Grünerlokka, an area that has become revigorated since the 1990's and is now one of the most vibrant parts of the city. The venue is in its original shape, although the stage has undergone a complete rebuild so that it meets the standard of sound reflection in European concert venues.

We visited the Park Theater...More

Have your refreshments inside or most preferably outside in the sun in the coolest part of town. A classic cafe and bar and a soulful concert venue. A must try if you enjoy alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages, music and concerts, or life in general.

The place has a studenty feel but don't let that put you off. It's a nice venue, good cocktails, great staff and a lively atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

I love places that are not perfectly decorated a little rough around the edges. Sat outside just as the sun came out with a cider and a very good VERY dark stout, great way to watch the world go by.

A tiny bar and not the most comfortable seats. It's always packed so it must be popular. Best to get there in the summer. Sit outside and chill with a good drink. But the bar is nothing special.

nice place to chill and have coffee or a drink. The prices are very good for Norway! 3 euros for a capuccino! And the park is quite!

I like the atmosphere at this place. They don't have the biggest beer or drinks menue, but you get the normal stuff. Might even run in to some celebreties.
