Grunerlokka seems to cover quite a wide area, but we liked the western part near the river most, I think called Blå. There were some nice shops and streets to stroll through.

Lokka as the locals call it is a really cool and vibesy area. It is full of restaurants...so many to choose from and really a cool hang out spot. I visited a fee time and truly love this area.

Quirky, eclectic neighbourhood. Probably the most lively neighbourhood we encountered in Oslo. It helped that we visited on a day when a festival was happening right at Olaf Ryes Plass, so we probably experienced a higher level of vibrancy than what is typical in the area. There were food trucks and street vendors all over the place, but there were also established restaurants that seemed to be popular and offered a great variety of cuisines to choose from.

This is a good area to check out for those looking to experience a more "real" side of Oslo, where locals hang out away from the touristy beaten path.

Grunerløkka, or Løkka as it is refered to by locals is the once working class area, now hipster area of Oslo. It used to be really hot in the eatly 2000, but now it has become more of a ghetto with shootings and a huge increase in crime. The area has a lot of junkies and far left loonies and is in all honesty not worth a visit. From an architectual point of view there is absolutely nothing to see her.

It's not one of Oslo's most interesting neighborhoods. It is an ordinary, banal neighborhood, without important, spectacular tourist objectives. Ordinary buildings, without out-of-the-ordinary architecture. If you want to see a special neighborhood, go to Tjuvholmen.

Grünerløkka is a district in Oslo, close to the city center. It lies on the east side of the Akerselva river.

Here you can find little cafes, restaurants, and bars. This popular shopping district has many design shops, vintage, and second-hand stores.

Feels very different for the rest of Oslo - if you've ever been to London, think Shoreditch compared to Westminster! I really enjoyed walking around and seeing the street art. The river way is lovely to walk by too.
