A truly spectacular place if you're a nature lover. Beautiful lake, lots of waterfowl, a peaceful place to clear your mind or enjoy a break from the city. Wonderful for running as well.

I had heared that Norwegian nature is pristine, but this is not. Too many people, no nice cafes or hang-outs, no innovation. Just lots of people walking or running around the lake. Could be cleaner.

Visited this refreshing place during my latest trip to Oslo and I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Nice gravel path around the lake with multiple stops and plenty of opportunities to take photographs of birds and other wildlife. I saw, and photographed, at least one treecreeper, many starlings and blackbirds and couple of large geese too. Being an amateur photographer and enjoying walks and treks in wild, having this kind of place so near and so easily accessed from city centre is a big plus.

Nice place, even in early spring with snow and ice, I can only imagine what this place looks like when it's warmer and everything is fresh green.

Great outdoors area for a run, acitivites on the water or just relaxing in the wood or park. So great to have it close to the city with just a ride with the T-bane away.

It is a beautiful lake and great surroundings. It is a perfect place for a nice walk in any season. The walkway around the lake is not long (3 km) but is very wide and accessible with a stroller all the way. There are longer paths marked so if you are up for a challenge, Songsvann Lake is a starting point for hikes of different length and difficulty. During the Winter you can find excellent cross country ski tracks in this area and in Summer Songsvann turns into a beach where the more adventurous people can get a chilling swim. A great plus is the easy availability of Songsvann Lake, which is at the end of the nr. 5 metro line.

The scenery is nice, the hike around the lake is easy and approximately 3 km. Often many birds. The only drawback is that it may be a lot of people hiking and running.

The lake measures 0.39 km², and is 17 meters deepest. In the summer it is teeming with life: people run, make barbecues, walk. it is a good place for a family with children. In autumn it gets quieter and calmer here.
I went to the lake for a walk and walked all around it (4-kilometer route around the lake). There are places on the route where you can light a bonfire. Along the way, you can also sit on one of the many benches or deviate a little from the main path and relax by the water.
In summary, Sognsvann is a pleasant place to spend time with friends or children.

A beautiful lake to walk around for about an hour. Especially lovely in Autumn. You can trek more in the woods if you want. Easy to reach. We were there on a drizzly October day but it was still really beautiful. If we lived in Oslo we would come here every weekend.
