Lovely Fjord

Stunning fjord. Definitely worth a visit, especially during the wintertime when there is lots of snow on the surrounding mountains.

Small craft affords a view of the affluent islands with summer homes and an interesting perspective of the city attractions such as the opera house

This was the best activity we took part in whilst in Oslo. We went on one of the boat tours of the fjord (there aren't many in winter) and loved seeing all the little islands and hearing about the history of Oslo!

I took a guided 2 hour boat ride in Oslo fjord. It was New Year's Eve so very cold out on the water but still very worth the visit. The tour guide provided blankets but at this time of year warm clothing is essential. From the water you get to see the inner harbour in Oslo with views of the... More

It was a cute and fun trip, but after taking a train trip to Lilliehammer, the Oslo fjord was not that impressive.

We took the ferry around the Fjord stopping off at Hovedoya for about an hour and then around the Fjord from island to island. It was a gorgeous day and a lovely trip which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Spent a few hours in the winter sun sailing in the Fjord, great way to spend a day. The houses are so beautiful they are all painted the same few "allowed" colours which makes it all look so regimented and neat sad but appealed to my OCD! Would love to spend a summer on one of the islands. Oslo is... More

There are ferries going to several little islands in the Oslofjord in the summer. They leave from the area close to the town hall and reasonably priced as they are part of the ordinary transportsystem in Oslo. Best to buy tickets from the machine on land. (The ferry to Bygdøy is a little bit different as it is no longer... More
