Beautiful architectural spot, be prepared though: it gets windy and cold at the top! We haven't been inside, but even just a walk around it gives you an idea of it. Lovely in winter when it's covered in snow!

It is located in a great place near harbor. Nice and new building. Boardwalk is good and offers nice restaurants on the way.

Visited here as it looked an interesting build and only round the corner from our hotel. Nice to be able to walk on the building, something different and great design. Can't say i was blown away by the views at the top, Theyre currently doing a lot of work to the front so theres just a lot of cranes about.... More

We saw the Nutcracker in early December - it was the best performance of this classic I've ever seen. Lovely to see the whole company involved, including the baby ballet students. Young Clara was particularly good, and we loved the theatrics!

Went to see the Nutcracker in December. It was the perfect accompaniment to a lovely weekend. It was a lavish and beautiful production. My girlfriend who is a keen follower of ballet said it was perhaps one of the best ballets she had seen Added to this, the building is one of the most amazing pieces of modern architecture.

We didn't go inside the opera house but you can walk onto the roof and get a good view across the harbour along with some excellent pictures - if you're in the area it's worth 10 minutes of your time.

How many building you can climb up to the roof? This is one of those. We enjoyed the time we spent there and took lots of photos. We could't chance to see inside the building as it was closed when we get there. Thats a good idea to check the openning hours from the web site if you want to... More

Stumbled upon this whilst walking, Can't comment on actual events. View is okay but nicer places in the city. Worth a 5 minute detour.

Purchased tickets for the magic flute for New year's Eve 2015 (a few months ago). This was the most fantastic production, they adopted a space theme, I assume to coincide with the new Star Wars film and it was hilarious. All the parts were played brilliantly, the operatics and orchestra were first class. The actual opera house is beautiful, in... More

The "new" building for the Norwegian state opera has made it into more than an opera visit. It's an attraction. You can visit for a lunch in the lobby restaurant or on the terrace when the weather is good. The food is good but quite expensive. It's also wonderful to walk on the roof of the building. The view is... More
