Hello Jocylc, yes January is a perfect month to see the Northern Lights. The Aurora season is between September and April each year. This is because we need darkness to run the activity. We tend to escape the city to avoid light pollution and to reach our special spots (sometimes we drive till Finland to allow our guests to get the chance to see the Aurora!). Note that, to be able to see the Northern Lights, we also need a clear sky, without clouds! The weather forecast in the area is constantly changing, from an hour to another, and Nature is still unpredictable, but thanks to their local knowledge and great passion, our Guides always try to put all the information available to make it happen :) It is a real chase! January is high season here in Tromsø, make sure to save your seat a bit in advance!

Hello hend2005, Thanks for your inquiry, the Aurora Hunt season is mainly between September and April each year. This is because we need darkness to be able to see the northern lights. August is still considered as being part of our summer season and we do not operate tours related to the Aurora Hunt at this period of the year. The daylight is too intense and the Midnight Sun has a real impact on the possibility of seeing the Aurora. Hello, We have our Aurora Hunt available for booking until April 8th. We are closed for easter and after that weekend there will be a lot of daylight so harder to see any activity.
