We started out as a home for dogs in 1988, since then our passion for dogs and life in the nature has taken us on an exilerating journey. Today we're one of Tromso's leading tourist destinations with over 300 dogs. Our main tours are with the dogsleds but we also have Northern Lights tours and snowshoe rentals.

In the summer we have Kayak trips, a wide range of tours and hikes with our huskies and puppies as well as glacier hikes. We'll provide warm clothes on all our tours to keep you warm while enjoying the Arctic Nature.

With such a dramatic & negative title I have some fair and factual explaining to do. If you are looking for Northern Lights, it all depends what you expect. I expected to be driven out to the dark countryside by a semi-knowledgeable guide to enjoy the beauty of the northern lights. What we got was an entirely over-commercialized fully loaded... More

I must admit I wasn't that keen on this husky dog sled program, I booked it because of my son. Finally, it became the highlight of our trip in Tromso. The Tromso Wilderness Centre is just a half an hour ride from Tromso, passing by incredible landscapes. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organised. We were split up... More

We visited Tromso Villmarkssenter before going a Hurtigruten ship. It was the highlight of our stay in Norway, simply amazing! We had a 45 minute sled ride; all the dogs wanted to do was pull those sleds. They were so excited when they were carried to the harness. And they are powerful, pulling us along at a lick and up... We had a wonderful time visiting Tromso Villmarkssenter in June even though there was no sledding at that time of year. We were very impressed with how caring the staff is; they clearly love the dogs. We were surprised to be given so much access to the dogs, including puppies. The dogs are VERY friendly and love interacting with visitors.... More

Nice experience, although it seemed a bit conveyer belt like system, which when you turn up on a packed coach is expected but takes the edge of the experience a little bit. I appreciate this is how they keep their dogs but do they really need 300, accidental litters is careless and what happens off season? More information about their... More

Unforgettable experience. It's not easy to find availability, they're always fully booked, plan in advance. Honestly I thought to find very big groups but was a very nice to realize that we left with just 3 sleds plus the guide's one. We really enjoyed the trip with dogs and nature in a beautiful area. We choose the driving and it's... More

Amazing place! They have more than 300 lovely and friendly dogs. It was an unique experience for me and my husband as we never done something like this before. We enjoyed very much especially the lovely dogs. They showed us some puppies and they also have dogs for adoption (old 'retired' dogs). The staff was from all around the globe,... More

After having walked into the Villmarkssenter reservation office near Tromso central, we were greeted by Anneli Laats, the sales office manager, who helped us navigate our way around some tricky logistics in order to make it possible for us to join the next day's early morning dog sled ride! She was an absolute superstar and without her help we would... More

This was our second visit. We had a great time, made very welcome. We were shown around the dog yard and had things explained to us. Our guide was very good. We met many dogs and some of the puppies too. Our driver was excellent, and we respect about 45 minutes speeding around the local snow covered fields, uphill and... More
