To get photos in the church, you have to listen to a short service. Not much of a hardship. The fjord is on is stunning. There is also a museum nearby, which tells you about the Russian pows put to work by the Nazis during WW2. Fascinating stuff.

Nice on the inside, but for me the outside does it. Bring your camera, this place has lots of photo ops in all seasons of the year. I would also suggest a good pair of shoes, and take a short hick around the Church.

Very interesting place with a small museum which contained an unsuspected wealth of information. A must if you like that sort of things! There is a very nice walk very close to it.

Seen from afar, this landmark is lovely in the snow - ideal for great photos. Typical Norwegian style. Backed by snowy mountains and close to the water.

Beautiful old stone church in scenic location by the side of the fjord. Near the Historical Centre, not far from the centre of Harstad. During the summer months they hold 'Sommerkveldsandakt' - summer evening devotions. Check the local paper - Harstad Tidende - on Friday for details.

A 10 minutes drive from the centre of Harstad. Apparently, the first Viking was baptised in the lake across the road. The world's northernmost Medieval church. The high ceiling and the impressive woodwork are striking features.
