Neighbourhood: Döbling
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.

The tour was very interesting and the wine was delicious. We enjoyed being able to take our tasting glasses to a table and enjoy rather than tasting at the counter.

I absolutely had no interest in Sparkling wine, but do appreciate the craft that goes behind it, and get the tastes now. This was a great self guided tour, they use what seems like an older (and very manual) technique, and also one of the oldest underground cellars in the country.

We enjoyed it all: the transit ride north to the Winery, the kind and informative reception, the cool brick tunnels, the story of Schlumberger Sparkling Wines and the glass of bubbly at the end. Go, you will have a nice time away from the Vienna crowds.

We visited on a weekday afternoon so it was not super crowded. We were initially skeptical of the audio tour but it turned out to be good. The right level of detail and duration for each exhibit. Our tour was 15 Euro and we tasted 3 different sparkling wines. Each was delicious and I thought the portions were good. There was no food available. They had a very comfortable tasting room and we were able to relax and enjoy our wines. We had a great time!

We booked this last minute with friends we joined on a 3-week trip. They used to live in Vienna and hadn't visited Schlumberger before. It was a surprisingly good tour- well done with multiple languages for a self-tour, at your own pace. It wasn't crowded as we went right as they opened. As winemakers we enjoyed the story and history as well as the detailed "champagne" process. Not kitchy or staged at all. Well done! And the 3 wines we enjoyed were all excellent! well done. I recommend this tour!

Very informative and interesting.
The caves and stairways were extraordinary, and it was lovely to hear some of the back story.
A very unassuming building with fascinating interior.
Audio very easy to use.

The audio tour was very informative. You could go at your own pace and read all the signs and look at the pictures and examples without a group of people around you. There is one long staircase to navigate but it does have a railing. Bring a sweater as it is quite cool in there. Definitely taste the sparkling, it is yummy!

Interesting introduction to history of the Schlumberger brand and production process of sparkling wine. Followed by one or several glasses of sparkling wine depending on type of tour chosen.
