Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. We found this concert when we went to visit the church of St. Peter. A very nice gentleman gave us all the information and we bought the tickets at a discount because they were for the following day. He advised us to go around 19:45 with concert start at 20:30 so we could get the best seats. If you succeed, Recommendation. In summer the church is very hot, Recommendation to bring a fan. Only for the months of July and August it is allowed to attend the concert wearing shorts. The group consisting of 2 violins, a viola and a cello was really good at both interpreting and performing the pieces.
The program of the evening is in the attached photo.
Beautiful evening.

This programme was accessible to all with well know pieces +. The young and talented string ensemble performed to a standing ovation after the hour performance. If one comes to Vienna, one must experience something like this. Perfect music in a stunning setting. We paid for front row seats and were very happy, but acknowledge that the sound would have been the same for half the price 15 rows back. Be warned wrap up as the church Path s cold in February!

As good a quartet as I have ever seen, and I've seen a great many. This is a talented group. The venue is unmatched--arguably the most beautiful baroque church in Vienna, if not Austria.
The concert is about an hour, dress is smart/casual (I wore a sports jacket and was amongst the better-dressed). The audience was at least several hundred people.
The musicians sit near the alter on a slightly-elevated temporary stage, so where you sit matters if you want to see them. The acoustics are fantastic, so you will hear everything regardless. My advice is to pay the extra to be in zone/category 1. This does not mean assigned seats, however, and ushers seat you as you arrive. We arrived 30 minutes early, and the church was rapidly filling up, so I recommend arriving 20-40 minutes early. It's a beautiful space, so the time will not be wasted.

Upon entering St. Peter's, I gasped, tears came to my eyes and I said, "Oh, my God!" This is by far THE most beautiful church I have ever seen, including the Vatican. But even more stunning was the performance by the string quartet, consisting of the most accomplished musicians I've ever seen. To hear Mozart, Vivaldi, Dvorak and Bach in such a magnificent setting was the highlight of our five days in Vienna. We arrived at the church around 45 minutes prior to the concert as we were unsure how long it would take us to get there from out hotel, and we were rewarded with being upgraded to the front row. I was so close to these incredible musicians I could have turned their music for them and would gladly have done so. Their musicianship was the likes of none I have ever seen. This was honestly one of the most moving experiences of my life.

Tickets for this concert can usually be purchased either via your hotel, online, or at the church itself. The church's interior is a sight to see. Probably the best to be seen in Vienna where in you don't normally have to contend with cattle car loads of tourists. The intimate atmosphere here makes the concert very pleasant and you're not packed in tight like at the other concert halls. It wasn't an overly touristy experience at all-i.e. they're not wearing classic clothing with wigs, but suits and gowns as the music is why you come to this concert. Best concert seen in Vienna, even after seeing the larger/more famous ones. Perfect venue to enjoy the music and appreciate the location.

We enjoyed the music but it barely lasted an hour and the entire experience did not represent value for money. We had paid extra for Category I seats at the front. We arrived 30 minutes before the start but the only Category I seats available were off to the side with a very limited view of the musicians. We decided to stay but a couple behind us left and asked for their money back. The church is beautiful and with the Christmas decorations it looked fabulous but there did not appear to be any heating and so it was also very cold. I suspect there are more worthwhile musical performances to listen to in Vienna.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Vienna. The church is beautiful. The string quartette was wonderful. The music was beautiful and so moving my husband and I had tears in our eyes. We kept looking at each other in amazement. We were expecting it to be good, but in all honesty, it surpassed our expectations. As other reviews said, it was cold and the seats are not that comfortable. But it's an extremely old church and they don't have a proper heating system or stadium seating. I wouldn't even expect that. Dress warmly. It's really an experience that should not be missed. Beautifully played classical music in a wonderful setting. A bargain price! Don't miss it!!

The concert itself was fantastic. Great repertoire for an enjoyable evening out. The seats however were the most uncomfortable I’ve had to sit on for some time at a concert. We paid for the premium tickets but the pews would have been more comfortable. Being so close and seated on the end of the row meant the balance from the quartet wasn’t optimal. If you have a choice, don’t chose the premium seating!

Hello, This concert in St. Peter's, Vienna sounds wonderful, and I'm considering booking for my mom and me for this coming March. I'm a little confused, however, because when I look to book here on TripAdvisor or Viator, the description mentions that the concert takes place in "the vaults" or the crypt (described by reviewers on Viator as a small and simple basement room) rather than the beautiful baroque church itself. Here on TA, however, the reviews for "Classical Ensemble Vienna" all seem to say that it takes place in the church. I only want to attend if it's in the actual church, so I'd appreciate if a property representative - or anyone else - could clear up the confusion for me. Thanks so much!
