Great place for exibitions, in the center of the city, easy to find (Freyung), high quality exibitions, for art lovers, I have been there two times, the retrospective of Georgia O Keeffe and her White Flower is fascinating. Shown in Austria for the first time.

Bank Austria is a bank associated to the Italian banking and financial group UniCredit. It pays attention to cultural issues, and has allotted a permanent space at its headquarters in Vienna for carrying out cultural events. This space is called “Bank Austria Kunstforum”. The events mainly consist of temporary art exhibitions; they generally are of very high quality, so, when... More

This a private venue owned by the Bank Austria. You may just miss it as you walk from the market on Am Hof to the Market on Freyung-where this exhibition hall is located. (From there take a walk to the Burg theater and the Rathaus, stopping for coffee and cake at Lindtman coffee shop). When we visited the place a... More

We saw an interesting exhibit here when we passed by on a walk around the neighborhood. For a small entry fee you can attend a regular exhibition. Check it out. There's no permanent collection, so it's the luck of the draw when you stop in depending on the quality of the exhibition. We were lucky, and saw an exhibit of... More

We went already several times to exhibitions at the Bank Austria Kunstforum and found them to be mostly well conceived and high quality. There's no permanent exhibition, but rather always a specific artist or theme which is worked out into an exhibition for a few months. The location -at Freyung - is easily accessible, from the subway line 3 station... More

Exhibitions change regularly and whatever they are, they are worth seeing. The scale is much smaller than, say, the Kunsthistorisches Museum or other major museums in Vienna, so you can have a good look here even if you don't have a lot of time. It is ALWAYS worth it. And the very central location means you don't have to go... More

Before you go to Vienna, check what kind of exhibition they have. The temporary exhibiton are changing 2 or 3 times a year. We had already Frida Kahlo, Picasso, Tolouse Lautrec, etc. exhbitions. Carefully selected works in a nice setting.

I visited the TL exhibition and found it very well done and worth the visit, giving a quite complete retrospective of the painter.

They exhibited the most famous posters and paintings of Henri Touluse-Lautrec. They showed some early works and you can see his progress. The exhibition is open till January 25th2014 so if you visit Vienna you should see it.

Great opportunity to see in one place many paintings and posters (with most known Moulin Rouge - La Goulue) of one of the most tragic painter living and painting in France in second half of XIX century. This is one of my favourite painters, I was reading his boography named Moulin Rouge so it was must for me to visit... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
