It was great yo be welcomed discretely into the beautiful gem of a church. The stained glass windows are strumming and the simplicity is a change from the baroque we've seen elsewhere. Don't miss it!

This is the oldest church in Vienna. In the Centre of town near Schwedenplatz and yet hidden. Found this gem at the end of the Vienna Free Walking Tour. I was somewhat reluctant to review this less touristy sight but it is important to share...More

This church is worth the visit from the city center, most notably because of the absence of tourists. However, there seems to be a horse and buggy route running nearby which is worth avoiding. The church is very old and finding the entrance and exit...More

Accidentally saw this church on our Segway tour..... we were standing within 20 feet of it for 15 minutes and NEVER knew it was there! it's hidden within this little courtyard of cafes and almost totally covered by ivy and, if the tourguide hadn't pointed...More

I attended a wonderful early music concert in this church: the perfect venue for this sort of music. The church is quite small. In the summer they have regular concerts of small ensembles. The church is an interesting example of Romanesque.

This is a very simple but extremely beautiful old church – possibly the oldest in Vienna. A church in some form has stood on this site since 740 although much that you see now, such as the aisle, is from the 11th century. Much of...More

This was a lovely location and a very strong ambience. This quaint little church was on the walking tour and was how we discovered it. It was an amazing little find and gave great photo opportunities whilst getting to it as well as on location....More

It is a lovely, romanesque church at the border of the old town. It's really worth to take a few steps downstairs and have a look at it from the North, as it looks much more spectacular from there than when seen from the South.

St. Rupert's is the oldest church in Vienna and, quite likely, the oldest building. It is right near the canal and an easy walk from the Judenplatz and the center of old town. Ironally, it bumps up against the plaza with bars and beer joints....More

A beautiful building but it was closed!! Does that count as a visit. Its rich in history and i was sad to only be able to read literature and take a few photos.
