I was looking at the reviews of this trip as I do it at the end of the month, but thought I did have a couple of tips to add to those from other writers. Taking your own bike on flights can be expensive if...More

Party of 4 males booked a 6 day cycling holiday through Rad+Reisen. Absolutely wonderful. The organisation was superb, the scenery marvellous and the cycling was easy due to very flat, smooth pathways. Ideal for cyclists of little experience.

The biking path along Danube is really beautiful and worth a visit. It is any easy route and can be walked upon as well. There is plenty of room for cyclists and people walking as well. It is a nice path for biking enthusiasts.

We actually walked 10 miles of the cycle path by the Danube and loved it. Easy route and you don't bother the cyclists as there is plenty of room for everyone. Loads to see - especially with the coming and going of the various river...More

For almost every inch of pedestrianised area in the city and surrounds there is an equivalent dedicated space for bikes and boy is it used. essentially in Vienna the dedicated bike lanes are so well marked that they are regularly used and so some riders...More

The guided routes seem to be really expensive and anyhow, we would much rather find our accommodation on the way. Is this a crazy idea at the end of August? Is it so packed? All ideas about cycling the Danube on a tight budget welcome. Thanks!

I have not been there that time of year. Google "weather in Austria in June" and it will give you a history of the typical weather during that time of year. The scenery on this bike path is amazing. Lots to do and see.

We are planning to do a 7night/8day cycling trip of the Danube in September. If we were to book an extra night on the route to do more sightseeing, where would travellers suggest we stay a second night?
