Located in part of the Schoenbrunn palace ( itself worth a visit ) . Quite a small venue but the great puppets & puppetry more than made up for it. Would recommend a visit with or without Kids!!!

I saw the Magic Flute, presented by the Schoenbrunn marionette theatre - very well done and true to most of Mozart's opera. The puppets were so well constructed and so well handled that I was drawn in the story and the (recorded) music. I have...More

Attended with daughters (12 and 8 years). Reserved tickets on line about 6 weeks prior to performance. Saw Johann Strauss' Die Fleddermäuse. There was a very confusing and perfunctory explanation of the plot contained within the 1 euro programme but I quickly sourced a more...More

This puppet theatre is set in the palace gardens, and is highly professional. The production was Mozart's Magic Flute, and the scenery, puppets and production values were flawless; a pity that only ten people were there in the audience. We were shown around backstage afterwards...More

Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow
of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has
interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence
and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the
other half to discover the secret charms of this posh
