The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

Schonbrunn Palace is stunning. A vast complex of historic buildings and gardens. It is well worth the visit. Each viewing room has been lovingly restored and they are a sight to behold, particularly the ceilings. Although crowded there is plenty of space to see it...More

It is better to buy tickets in advance. Lines are usually long to get tickets. It takes about an hour and half to complete a full tour of the palace inside.

Gardens are beautiful! Would probably not go again on the weekend, too many unruly children running around. Would visit again on a weekday

Absolutely well worth a visit. The graves tour with audio guide is the best way to see the state apartments. It’s very busy but easy enough for to take the tour at your own pace. It’s a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Habsburgs....More

Go early. Our Globus tour group was the second to be admitted and it was well worth getting up early. The palace and grounds are absolutely beautiful. A must see when in Vienna.

No photos allowed but postcards and books in the shop do not include photos of the beautiful painted ceilings. WHY DON'T THEY JUST FORBID FLASH!!

Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow
of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has
interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence
and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the
other half to discover the secret charms of this posh
residential neighbourhood. Sneak out of the gardens at
Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down
