Yet another of Vienna's traditional Christmas Markets, the annual Spittelberg gathering exudes a bohemian atmosphere.

We spent four days in Vienna in late November 2016 and it was wonderful. We would recommend not only the markets but exploring Vienna as well. It is a beautiful city.

Having visited over 10 different Christmas markets this past winter in Vienna, this market combined the best of local boutique stores, restaurants and crafts. No cheesy imports or schlock. Spanning three blocks there is plenty of variety, and it's all local. Put this one on...More

This is worth putting on your short list of Christmas markets in Vienna. It is located on a series of street close to the museum district. There are more local crafts available and the overall setting is more intimate. There are also many local shops...More

Another of the Christmas markets we visited on our pre Christmas trip to Vienna. This one differed from most of the others in that it was less commercialised, selling more hand made goods and other items not seen elsewhere rather than mass produced items. It...More

I would definitely suggest to visit the Spittelberg Christmas Market during your stay in Vienna. It was my favourite one with a real traditional market feeling and touch.

Really nice experience with lots of jolly people drinking and eating in the streets. Also a better selection of stalls. There were some that were still selling rather tacky products (as was typical of the markets in Vienna - we were surprised by that) but...More

We visited 5 or 6 markets while in Vienna and this was by far my favourite. A lot more traditional, spread out over 3 narrow streets with a bustling but never overly crowded feel. Loved it so much we went back again

Was marking one tour in Vienna to the Christmas markets. Spittelberg is one of the best that have seen, you real feel that it is Christmas and not that it is done just for impressing the customers and make them buy something. If you are...More

A small Christmas market set among three small lanes. We like this market more than the rest coz it is less touristy. More local products and more friendly vendors.

Nice small Christmas Market but more traditional and authentic than the big Christmas Markets in Wien...so definitely recommended!

Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries,
arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde
shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with
cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make
for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and
art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at
Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a
perfect hangout on a warm summer evening.

Usually there are less markets open after Christmas. But the main ones (Rathaus, Schönbrunn, Maria-Theresien) are still open until NYE and turn into New Year market with slightly different offerings vs. Advent time.
