In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

Nice street, great to walk through starts at the opera on one side and ends at the stephenplart on other side.but sad looky due to covid these days nothing is working. Otherwise full of shops and places to have a bite or drink. Still you can enjoy the archticture along.

Kaerntner Strasse is Vienna's historically most famous and most noble shopping streets. One can discover an immense variety of pleasurable shopping opportunities. Spreading from the State Opera House to the Cathredral of St. Stephans it is right in the heart of Vienna. So walking down this street is the perfect way of getting to know the city and shopping in a relaxed way at the same time. It really is worth going there, i loved it! The shop i liked best was Mayr & Fessler, they truly have great, authentic Viennese souvenirs there!

The pedestrian shopping street was packed with people during our visit. We looked a little for nice things to buy, but the prices are high. In the end, I bought some nice dark chocolates, and we sat at a cafe, had drinks and pastries, and enjoyed people watching.

When in Vienna there are several streets that you can check out ... Kärntnerstrasse is one of those... here you will find a lot of shops if you feel like shopping, but nonetheless you shall find some other interesting sights:
- on one end is the Vienna Opera house (MI: Series featured Tom Cruise sliding down from there ...for instance).
- Stock im Eisen platz on the other end ....
- Maltese church - squeezed in between the shops on Kärntnerstrasse ...
- brand shops
- restaurants - some fast food but also some genuine restaurants.
So when you are in Vienna beside Graben and Kohlmarkt you can check out this street also.

Kaerntnerstraße is one of the most famous streets in central Vienna .
Running roughly from Stephansplatz and up to the Wiener Staatsoper at Karlsplatz and the famous Ringstraße,Kaerntnerstraße has been in existence since Roman times ,from the late 19th century onwards this street became a shopping area and from 1974 became a pedestrianised shopping street with many retail outlets along this street plus cafe bars and restaurants ,architecture is also fantastic with some great buildings dating from the 19th century and earlier ,it's a street to most definitely check out if you're planning a holiday to Vienna.

Kärntner Strasse is the most famous shopping street in Central Vienna, it dates back to 1257 when it was called Strata Carintianorum. It runs from Karlsplatz at its southernmost point to Stephansplatz in the north. The street has its fair share of shops, department stores as well as other sights including the Maltese Church which we visited during our time at Kärntner Strasse. It is an area worth visiting but it is best to avoid at peak times as it gets extremely busy, we also visited at quieter times when it was less chaotic.

Kaerntnerstrasse or Kaerntner Strasse (I am not sure how to spell it right) is a truely wonderful street. If you ask me it is the BEST SHOPPING STREET you will find in Vienna. Why ???Well, unlike Mariahilferstrasse or Kohlmarkt this street is not as packed and flooded just by stores of big chains - meaning there are still a lot of small stores worth visiting. Many of them having been here for centuries. Lobmeyr since 1823 or Mayr & Fessler since 1840 to name a few. And because of that you can still expect great services in these stores.Apart from that it is also the historically most important shopping street in Vienna (if not in whole Austria) still evident through the antique buildings. Which is also what gives this Shopping street its extraordinary flair.Last but not least Kaerntnerstrasse is the only shopping street in Vienna (or even in whole Austria) with its own website. !!!Hope I could help you.

If you’re visiting Vienna, you have to take a walk on Kartner Straße. For me, Kartner Straße is Opera by night, Stephansplatz with the cathedral, Hotel Sacher and the famous Sacher torte, little restaurants where you must taste the schnitzel and goulash, and so much more!

A street with a lot of stores and a few restaurants.

As far as the stores, it is overrated and overpriced (because of the location), but it is a nice place to walk around and see the church, see the architecture, have lunch (some nice restaurants in the area).

You can do a lot of shopping but it seemed that most people didn't go there for the shopping but for the experience.
