We stopped by this 18th century column commemorating a war victory while visiting the Christmas markets nearby. It sits in the middle of the large shopping district of Maria-Theresien-Straße.. Pretty pinkish marble (although hard to see in the deep winter afternoon!) with a statue of...More

You can clearly see the column while walking down Maria-Theresein-Strasse. It is worth a quick look.

Nothing special about the column but hard to miss as it is right in the middle of the town. Managed to get some stunning day and night shots with mountains in the background. Lots of shops and restaurants around.

This is hard to miss if you are Innsbruck. In my opinion, nothing too special about the column, what the main attraction was the mountains in the background.

These sorts of columns are in many cities, usually about the plague, but there it seems not. It is a bit away form center, in big shopping (real people) area. If you are there you will see it.

This is normally not something I would go out of the way to see, but it in on the Marie-Thereseien Strasse leading into the Altstadt, and it adds nice local color and appeal to any photo taken along that street.

Not too much to see - street is covered with parked cars. Drunks were camped out at base of column - so definitely not a place to bring young kids. Some good shopping close by. Definitely not worth going out of your way for.
