The cable cars are packed but well worth it, the view is spectacular once you reach the summit. There are also fairly easy walking trails. Take some warm clothes with you as the temperature is about 10 degrees lower than in the city.

Nordkette is a place where taught me the grandeur of nature. We had to wait quite long for the cable car so it will be better to buy ticket online (if possible) and go early in the morning not to waste time in a queue....More

15 minutes walk from hotel - the train departs from the Congress Centre. Easy to find - follow the crowds. Quite busy but no long queues. Ticketing very simple. Fabulous views of Innsbruck from the top.

Reach to the Hofburg Congress and then take the Hungerburg Funicular to the first stop Hungerburg. The terrace had some spectacular views and few restaurants. From there there’s a cable car ride to Seegrube and then the third one to the final stop Hafelekar. It...More

Ride was fun, but they pack as many people as possible in each gondola. The views from the summit are spectacular.

Take the train from the center to Hungerburg and then go on with the Nordkettenbahn to Hafelekar. Great views of the city on one side and the mountains from the nature park Karwendel on the other side.

We recommend going up all the way up to the top because you will see the back of the alps. Should you have lunch, do it at the first stop. The meny at the top was pretty bad.

Hi Kajal, this can be a 4-5 hrs to a day trip, if u want to spend a time and wants to have food on the top restaurants. Last cable car at top is around 4:30 pm. So, it’s better to reach by 11:00 or 12:00 pm at least. Hope it... More

Its a very short ride. Even if you go up to the very top (which we highly recommend), it takes less than 30 minutes.
