It was a great way to meet others, have fun, and learn a little something too about baking and Salzburg. Great experience, and this is coming from someone that does not cook.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 16 October 2023
- Polly WNew Hope, Pennsylvania41 contributionsA fun and different travel experienceThis was a fun class. You learn how to make a couple of traditional Austrian desserts, meet fellow travelers and have a memorable experience. Much of the prep work was done before class so everything could be made and finished on time. Definitely reccomend.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 December 2023
- rwgrncrdChicago, Illinois576 contributionsA quick fun session4 of us joined 8 other people for a Friday afternoon class at 2pm. Beer, wine and soda were available for purchase - which helped everybody relax. A quick run through of how to make strudel followed by our own effort. Then some goulash, which was excellent, followed by cookie making. Two staff members helped make the session really fun. Celen and her sister were great. I would thoroughly recommend this class if you have the opportunity to do it. The strudel, cookies and goulash were all great and we had a blast.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 December 2023

The girls who were helping and the chef who was demonstrating, were amazing. We had lots of fun and laughter. Met some really lovely people and learned how to make Pretzels, Dumplings (with cheese and some with meat) And Apple Strudel . We then sat and ate together whilst we were entertained by the most beautiful singing by one of the helpers who was studying opera at the Mozart school of music. All in all a really tremendous experience and cannot Recommend highly enoughVisited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 January 2024

- jillians1810Perth, Australia1 contributionA unique experience not ot be missedMy 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters ( 7 & 5 ) and myself had a wonderful afternoon preparing and cooking apple strudel and vanilla kipfel. We had great fun preparing the strudel pastry. The lunch of goulash followed by our own homemade strudel and kipfel was delicious. Johann explained all of the steps clearly and included the children in every step. The venue in itself was an experience being a shopfront opening into a cave.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 March 2024
- Bayley S2 contributionsAmazing!Johann was amazing, he put together an excellent lesson for us to make an apfel strudel, before serving us 4 other courses paired with beers that were absolutely fantastic. We finished with the apfel strudel that we made, that was incredibly delicious. He accommodates food allergies, intolerances and preferences as well. The experience was so incredible and I highly suggest anyone spending time in Salzburg to go here. His location is perfect, being inside a mountain, so the rock walls and ceiling give a unique vibe there. Overall it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 7 April 2024

Team Strudel! Who knew you and your fellow chefs have to work together to get your strudel pastry to a meter in diameter - patch the holes and then fold and flip! So much fun - good for teens too … / as a family activity especially if it gets a bit rainy - the venue is this amazing cave in the rock ! Totally try it !

My 11 year-old daughter and I had a blast learning to make apple strudel and Vanillakipferl! The class is helpful to beginner and experienced bakers alike: stretching the strudel dough is not difficult but is the kind of thing that requires live instruction. Everything was delicious. We made a large batch of Vanillakipferl for Christmas and they disappeared within minutes!

Our family of 6 adults had a great time at the cooking class. It was lighthearted and easy to follow, although we may have become a bit competitive by the end. Margarita was an excellent teacher and we enjoyed getting to know her. We left feeling full and proud of the new skills we learned.

Would they be able to accommodate a group of 40?
Written 6 April 2018
Hello Marana,
thank you for your request. I do for groups with a maximum of 30 People. 40 People in one lesson would be to much harm the Quality of the experience. So I would split the group in two classes. For instants I start with the first group at 11:00am til 12:30pm and the second from 1pm till 2:30 pm. Dinner Time would be also possible. If you send me an request through email (the email link is located on top of the Webpage), I can offer you special group prices and programs. Looking forward to hear from you again.
Best regards from Salzburg

I see there is an adult price and a price for children 7-14. Do children under 7 not require a ticket? But they may still attend? (We will have ages 7 and 4 along.)
