We took the walk down the hill and ended up entering through the very quiet, back entrance of this place. After wandering through a few hallways, we followed the noise and ended up where all the action was. We were pleasantly surprised to have a...More

Great beer and a great biergarten and bier hall. Casual, inexpensive and good location and atmosphere. Little crazy on Friday and Saturday nights but otherwise not an issue.

A large very friendly 'wine bar' type place. Beautiful old building. The room we went in was the smoking room which I wouldn't have gone in by choice, but the non smoking room was absolutely full. It wasn't too smoky though. It was excellent to...More

This lively and historic beer hall is not to be missed. It's a series of large halls with long wooden tables and benches, and a marketplace of food stands in the hallways. The atmosphere feels authentic and relaxed, and the place was full of locals...More

Select your ceramic mug, rinse it out, pay for your beer and have it filled from a wooden keg. Choose your food from an excellent choice of vendors in the "food court". Drink and dine in a large indoor hall or the beer garden.

Despite several ownership changes from the original Augustiner monks, this location remains the same as it was 35 years ago. It's an absolute must see on your visit to Salzburg.

When you're happen to be in Salzburg on a nice, warm, sunny day, go there as the beer carden with many many chestnut trees is really nice. Inside everything is biiiiig. Like a big busy market hall. There are also some rooms ('Stüberl') in traditional...More

Pay for beer, pick a stein, wash it, keg man fills, grab a pretzel or brat, go sit under Chestnut forest among a hundred or more happy people next to the old monastery which gave birth and blessing to Augustiner B!
