We like using the hop on hop off service when we visit new cities to give a feeling for the city and to get some bearings of where things are. Sadly Salzburg’s, which is beautiful, version was very very poor. The city is very small,...More
we went to Salzburg for one day during our trip to Vienna. We thought that taking this tour will be the best way to see Salzburg. Unfortunatly we were wrong. The bus has 2 lines which intersect in most of the tour ,so you end...More
We took the Yellow one hour tour around Salzburg. We already had an online ticket - but had to swap it for another ticket at the booth. Not sure why - we've done many of these and the online ticket has always been enough -...More
Not as informative as other hop on hop off tours we have taken but it did give us a good orientation to the city. One highlight was when it let us get off the bus for a few minutes to see one of the Sound...More
We did the yellow and blue lines on this hop on hop off tour. The yellow line was the first one which was in a large air conditioned bus with tinted windows. It had no facility to open the top for better viewing, however the...More

I personally feel you do not require a Hop on Hop off bus in Salzburg as most of the sight seeing places (which are in old town & Mirabel Platz) can be done walking. Everything is quite easy to find. For the far off ones like the Helbrunn Castle and Stiegl Beer Museum you can take a public bus from Mirabel Platz. Use of public transport is free with Salzburg Card. During our visit to the city last year we bought the HoHo ticket for 1 day which remained unutilied.
There are 2 kinds of HoHo buses operating from morning to 7 pm: a blue line (small white bus) covering only the old town and a yellow line which covers the rest of the town. The tickets are for 1 day, 2 days kind and not for 24/48 hrs. A route map and headphones are generally included in ticket.
