We wandered into the university square in front of it as it had some food vendor trucks in it and we grabbed some food and sat on the church steps.
We thought the church was closed as it had some renovations going on in front of it. When we were looking around, we saw some people coming out of it. We finished our lunch and then went in for a look.
It was pretty boring and bland for a church and also very cold inside, colder than outside due to all the marble retaining the cold.
It had some artwork in it and looked like it was an art gallery. It actually was, which was weird.
Not something id go to see again.

Outside it is massive and beautiful, inside an empty shell with an altar pushed to the far end. I believe it would be wonderful for concerts but I like beautiful churches!

We found this church to be unlike any other. The brilliant white interior employs a huge open approach, with no pews or chairs, which gives it a larger sense of presence. The Baroque interior is adorned with huge paintings in grand frames dating from 1721-1722. We ended up spending far more time in this church than we had planned; it's that impressive!

This beautiful church was almost empty when I slipped in for a quick look while on a Christmas Market tour in Salzburg. All of the seats have been removed, which actually makes it more impressive in my view.
The Kollegienkirche (Collegiate Church) in Salzburg, Austria, is the church of the University of Salzburg. It was built in Baroque style by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Centre of Salzburg. It is now both the parish church of people connected to the university and a venue of the Salzburg Festival.

Not particularly jaw-dropping, but it is pretty. Worth stopping in for a quick if you are passing by.

This church is pretty nice. It looks like is undergoing some work and all the seats have been removed. It’s white inside and pretty beautiful. I really enjoyed it and it’s free to look.

We visited this church around 10:30am on a Friday, and were lucky to find ourselves completely alone and able to view it unhindered. While some visitors apparently are unimpressed by the vast, white Baroque interiors, travelers who have toured many churches worldwide will find this a unique and beautiful cathedral. (There are also pops of color in the chapel paintings, etc. It's not ALL white!) This is a peaceful place in a very convenient location, one of the many spots that make Salzburg a wonderful city. Entrance to the cathedral itself is free. (Note: we were scheduled to hear a classical concert here during our stay but it was unfortunately cancelled due to a COVID exposure. I plan to return some day for another opportunity to do this as the setting is perfect for musical appreciation.)

Started to get a touch of church, chapel, cathedral overload and they started to lose their impact. This was a good one though. Pace yourself.

This church is smaller and more pleasant than the Cathedral (Salzburger Dom), with beautifully decorated baroque interior. I guess the prevailing white colour increases this impression. Especially the dome is impressive.

It is a very impressive Church from the outside but is bland very white inside and disappointing as it did not meet the expectations it portrayed with its external beauty.
