We went past here each day when we were in salzburg as it was on the way from our hotel to the old town and we decided to visit one day. You have to enter round the back and nit through the church. It is...More

St Sebastian's Cemetery holds tombs of famous and prominent persons like Archbishop Wolf Dietrich or Paracelsus, the famous physician or part of the Mozart family.

Along Linzer Gasse is Sebastiansfriedhof which is fairly hidden and it is here that many notable people are buried including the Father and wife of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is a tranquil place and possibly overlooked due to the sheer scale of other attractions in...More

central location, nice place to go to escape throngs of tourists and mid day heat. Interesting to read the old grave markers; beautiful noise as the church bells tolled the noon hour. Good place to recharge your batteries after lots of walking.

The tomb of Archbishop Wolf Dietrich is the center point of this cemetary, but it is interesting to look at all the old tombstones. The inscriptions and decorations tell history in an unusual way. Paracelsus is also buried here.

This is a very, very special place if you like to feel peoples souls buried in this special place. You will find graves older than 200 years in a very scenic surrounding. Also the Salzburg catacombs are at this place and definitively worth a visit.

I wanted to visit this place as it is the final resting place for family members of Mozart. It is a peaceful place to come to.

Together with the St Peter cemetery is this one a small jewel. Many tourists even stroll past it without noticing it. The old cemetery is located next to the St Sebastian church.Previously the small cemetery had probably been a pest cemetery. 1595-1600 commissioned by Archbishop...More
