The Hellbrun Castle is a baroque style huge villa.Scenes from the Sound of Music have been shot here. They have a very beautiful lawn area here. It is worth going inside the castle with the basic ticket and viewing all the parts with the help of the audio guide.

One of the 'must visit' places in Salzburg. We bought the basic ticket and that was fine. Make sure you do the audio tour. You go inside the castle and learn about the different places and the history of the castle. The views are also excellent.

Had a wonderful time here. Dinner was top notch, perfectly prepared, and the ambience was outstanding. Beautiful view from the castle walls to downtown Salzburg. And, the Mozart Concert accompanying it was wonderful. Such gifted musicians, although the seating was not as comfortable or as expected as I had expected for VIP tickets. But, I would do it again in... More

We really enjoyed our evening tour of the fountains. Everything was beautifully lit. Being the last tour of the day, there was only one other family in our group. I would definitely recommend visiting in the evening if the trick fountains are what you are wanting to see. We visited the gardens again during the day as part of a... More

We decided to walk to Hellbrunn Castle from Salzburg alongside the river. Such a beautiful peaceful walk. As it was New Year's day it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunshine we were having. The castle is closed over Winter but there is plenty to enjoy walking around in the beautiful castle grounds. It is wonderful to see... More

A must see! The fountains and play with water are quite fascinating and entertaining too! The tour guide was lovely, making these trick fountains truly come to life, and was quite knowledgable in the workings of the different water toys and mechanisms. The grounds are beautifully manicured too offering great opportunities for strolls.

We were fortunate enough to visit Hellbrunn palace during our recent visit to Salzburg when the Christmas market was on and the grounds were covered in snow, stunning. We weren't able to go inside the palace but can only imagine it would be worth seeing. The grounds include statues, lakes, ponds, long walks and stunning photography opportunities. The huge sturgeon... More

Surely the unmissable attraction in Salzburg, it requires a 20-minute travel by bus from the historic centre. In winter months it hosts the best and largest Xmas market nearby but you can still visit the park and climb to the wood with lovely views and a stone natural theatre ("steintheater"). It's more enjoyable in warmer months as Palace re-opens in... More

This was a really fun tour-go at your own place through the palace itself with an audio tour. Tours must be scheduled for the Gardens-but this was my favorite part. So interesting to see the personality that went into this. Go during a warmer part of the day-expect to get a little wet. You have to see it in person... More
