Grounds and buildings are beautiful. The stories of the castle are what makes the visit worth it. If you want to get wet, take part in the wasser spiel tour. You can learn and see some really intriguing things. Wish there was an adult version...More

We walked around the grounds and saw the reconstructed gazebo from the Sound of Music for just a short while. We were told it was a hunting castle built in the early 17th century by Prince Archbishop Markus Kittikus. We didn't have time to go...More

We only did this tour at Hellbrunn. Very enjoyable. I have to think if you had kids along they’d be enchanted. As two adults, we certainly were. Keep your camera lens covered!

Our first tour here some years ago was really interesting, we learned the history of the man who built the trick fountains and about the types of people he entertained, we felt we learned something. This time the tour guide barely said anything focussing on...More

The castle, itself (not far from the centre) is nothing special, just 11 small rooms. But the gbarden is lovely, nice statues, cristal clean lakes, and the tricky fountains... amazing. You can visit the fountains only by guided tours, but it worth a try. You will...More

Actually, there is a very good and reasonably priced restaurant on the grounds of Hellbrunn. Open for lunch but not breakfast that I know of.

You can walk around the park and see the grounds but not the fountains. It's not very big but worth a quick look. If you do the fountains watch out for the nasty guide who likes to get your cameras wet and get you wet on a... More
