This former palace now houses government offices. The gardens are where the von Trapp children sang "Do-Re-Mi" in the Sound of Music.

There's nothing exceptional on winter season. Maybe it's better to visit on summer seasob when everything is green

Visited Salzburg in January for a weekend, so there wasn't much to see at this time of year. A lot of the gardens were roped off presumably for winter maintenance, so apart from the small orangery, not much there. Imagine its lovely in the summer,...More

these gardens and fountains are gorgeous. most americans will recognize them from the sound of music. it is a great place to visit on a nice day. bring a discreet picnic and grab a bench.

The garden was very pretty with a lot of flowers blooming. It also offers the best place to take a nice long-range shot of the Salzburg castle. The palace was closed by the time we reached, so couldn't take an inside view.

As a movie buff visiting here really appealed to me, its also got a lot of history behind it so its like the best of both worlds. Its really nice seeing this in real life and it is really picturesque.

Take your time and wander through these beautiful gardens. We were told you can get a Sound of Music tour through here. There is a large fountain in the centre of the gardens as well as statues. The gardens are a good place for photos.There...More

The ballroom was roped off and set up for an event, so we didn't get to go inside. We did peak in the door. The garden gates were closed for winter, so we didn't get to walk the gardens, either. We did get a nice...More

A large garden area in the new town area across the river from the Old Town. It was a pleasant little walk, with pansies providing some colour but would think it is much more attractive as a place to sit and walk in the summer...More

We took a stroll through these gardens, there isn’t a great deal to see as the actual garden area is cordoned off for walking through. But worth a visit to look at and to see the gates where the Sound of Music was filmed.

Unfortunately a lot of the gardens were closed off during our visit, unsure if this was due to maintenance of it is always is. Sign posting is not great it was a bit confusing where everything was. The gardens are very beautiful but you only...More

Hi, While I actually arrived with a tour group, I did see what appeared to be a large area for parking? I hope this helps. A really beautiful place.
