The views were spectacular - worth the climb! The extra 2 euros for the ancient room restorations was worth it.

My daughter and I did the tour. It was nice. The view was great. The museums were good. The WiFi was better than our hotel. It was definitely worth seeing

Great way to get some exercise if you walk instead of take the funicular. Great views from all sides of the Fortress. Unfortunately I was too late to hit the museum but enjoyed it none the less.

I was expecting much more. Once you climb up the nice thing is the view of Salzburg price to me is high especially if you take the ticket to walk. Better to see from below

The views at the top were amazing but the rest of the fortress was very boring with not much to do. We did the tour which was just awful. You get given an audio guide at the start without any headphones and then get moved...More

Enjoyed it very much. Ride up in the tram was amazing and the views spectacular. Audio tour was very good. More directions could be provided as you come off the tram at the top but apart from that, very good and would recommend

The fortress complements the view over the old town. There is also a nice view from the tower. However there's other castles around that also offer similar views and content.

A must see when visiting Salzburg, this imposing fortress sits atop the Festung and can be seen from anywhere in the city. Definitely recommend taking the funicular, as it is a long walk up. The audio tour is useful, and the full tour including access...More

Entering the castle is not free. You buy a general ticket to go up. Walking around the grounds and touring part of the castle is included. There is an extra fee for the "complete" tour of the inside the castle. It's well... More

I'm not sure, there weren't any long lines to get up the funicular to the fortress even though it was a holiday weekend and a festival was going on in the streets below the fortress. But my experience all around the area is... More
