We took the funicular to the fortress as we were only in Salzburg for a day and wanted to spend time in the Christkindlmarkt's in town. Amazing views of the Austrian Alps from the fortress. Interesting exhibits and worth the trip.

We took the cabletrolley from old town up to the fortress. Wonderful view over the city and it's surroundings. It's a "must see" when visiting Salzburg.
