Self-guided tour, very little in English. We were instructed to view movie in English, then we could "go up to third floor." There are no signs pointing to where the museum tour starts. There are random unlabeled doors, which we tried to open and found one that had a museum arrow sign on the other side. We eventually wandered our way through by trial and error. Seriously, put up some signs, arrows, footprints, something! The beer and food were good, definitely try the raspberry beer, delicious. Try to get an English language tour, or you will wander the building indefinitely.

While we didn’t make the tour, we had a fantastic dinner here. Jakob was our server and was kind, helpful and witty. I wasn’t expecting great food as the beer was the focus but we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. The outdoor atmosphere was welcoming and the flights of beer were delicious. Even better was the champagne beer! Get it!!

You start by sitting through what amounts to a 360 degree PR film for Stiegl beer and its purity and origins, but it is quite a clever theater. From there it is a long self-guided walking tour through one exhibit after another, that seems a bit long. There are a few english translations here and there, but just when it is starting to get old, you arrive for your tasting. You get 3 .33 liter tastings of whatever you like (there are about a 8 or 9 seasonals) and then it is two for one. You also get a bottle opener as a gift upon leaving. It's a long walk from the old town, but it is walkable.

The brewery tour is only on advance booking for big groups. The regular tour is only for a small museum but also includes a couple of coupons for free beers in their own beer garden. make sure you do their tour first so that you get the coupons before relaxing in their beer garden. The staff is extremely helpful and cheerful and suggested some very nice beer options for newbies beer drinkers (Their lemon beer option was awesome). Take Bus no. 1, the bus stop for Stiegl Brauwelt is 5 minutes walk away.

We missed the guided tour, but the museum was pretty large for a brewery museum, and mostly explained in German / English, plus an optional downloadable audio guide.

Free gift and free taster from the restaurant.

Beer was great as you'd expect, with a lot of other European beer available to try as well. Food was also very good, reasonably priced, and service was excellent.

If you've got a Salzburg pass, this is a no-brainer. And whilst you're there, definitely have some food. And a beer, or three.

About a 10 min walk from a main bus line.

We had the Salzburg Card so took the #1 bus to the brewery. From the bus stop head in the direction the bus was heading and the street you want is up on the left (there is a bank on the corner with an ATM). You walk through a residential area before you see signs for the brewery. The tour is self guided and interesting.
After the tour we went to the large hall for our tasting (six different beers) and a really nice hearty lunch. There was another restaurant choice as well that was non smoking and a little more modern feeling.

We visited your facility using a Salzburg day pass on which you can see clearly that this card includes “Entrance and beer tasting”. Unfortunately, the guy serving us said that this is not the case and we have to pay for this beer tasting (€7.90 for Klassik or €9.50 for Premium which we paid). He said that Stiegl is fighting with Salzburg council to remove this from the card but they don’t listen. Now, from a tourist standpoint I really don’t care about this fight. We were told that this is included and until this is removed from the card you should offer it for free. In fact we are now in the restaurant and the experience is not brilliant.

We've been to the beer museum and it was very well organized.
A detailed audio-guide was also available and it made the experience better. The tour was dynamic because you can also taste some of the beer ingredients. It's definitely worth a visit!
PS. If you want to eat the restaurant serves really good dishes (from 10 to 15€)

Our family of 4 were expecting a tour of the Stiegl factory, but instead got a description of the beer making process. We probably would have seen the bottling machine had we not toured on a Sunday. We were on the only English speaking tour of the day and while our guide seemed a bit nervous, she did a great job of describing the different areas. Prior to the tour we wanted to eat lunch at one of the restaurants. We told our waiter that we had a tour coming up and asked if it would be possible to be served. He promptly replied No! This was after seemingly being quite put out when we asked for English menus. The waiters in a different restaurant after our tour were not any better. Again, seemingly put out when we asked for an English menu and no one came back to get our order after we were served our beer samples from the tour. All in all the value was possibly there in the beer, but the experience was nothing we were excited about and we would never return to eat there.

Stiegl charges 13 Euros for as walk through their promo exhibit area. THERE ARE NO ENGLISH TOURS AVAILABLE - just a download to your phone. We did not see any actual German tours either. You get a few small knickknacks at the end, but it is definitely not worth it. just stick to the gift shop, or better still, go to the Stiegl Restaurant across the courtyard.
