The Mozartsteg connects the Mizartplate with the Giselakai.
This Art Nouveau bridge dates from 1903 and even has a toll booth.
This bridge only became public property in 1920, from then on no more tolls had to be paid for it.
The bridge also appears in the film The Sound of Music.

A bridge is a bridge is a bridge I guess. Nothing special about this one. It is a pedestrian bridge spanning about 50 meters long crossing the Salzach river. It gets you from the main city side across to the top end of the old town precinct. Its a metal construction on a sandstone pillar base.
Really its just access across the river, not much more, not an engineering marvel, just pure form and function.

The Mozartsteg is a bridge named for Mozart and a pedestrian bridge across the River Salzach. It's a fairly nondescript looking bridge as bridges go. This bridge featured in the "The Sound of Music" as Maria and the children cross the River Salzach at the begining of their day trip out of Salzburg, while the instrumental of "My Favorite Things" plays in the background.

Otherwise, I doubt anyone would notice this bridge. There's fantastic views of Hohensalzburg Fortress from the bridge though.

The less popular cousin than the Makartsteg, which was featured in the Sound of Music movie. Also a pedestrian bridge but less crowded and in my opinion has a better view to admire the river, though it's a little further away from the main tourist attractions. You can actually do a loop around the two bridges on foot if you don't mind walking.

Without it being on the Sound of Music, you would just walk straight over this bridge and think nothing of it, but because it is iconic, it changes your thoughts on it. There is a really nice tea/coffee store on the corner and would recommend a stop there also.

The famous “Mozartsteg” or Mozart Bridge is an “Art Nouveau bridge” in use for pedestrians in the city centre of Salzburg. It is locally well-known for its neat design and gained international "fame" by featuring in the Hollywood movie "The Sound of Music". The Mozartsteg was built until the year 1903. The project was initiated by a private association, the "Mozartstegverein". This association owned the bridge, which linked (and still links) the area of the “Steingasse/Imbergstrasse” and the “Rudolfskai/Mozartplatz Square. Until 1920, the Mozartsteg was property of the society mentioned above, which charged a toll for using it. For this purpose, a little toll house was built right next to the bridge on the Rudolfskai side. The house is still there and now home to a local jewellery and craft artist.

Apart from its connection with the Sound of Music film, this is a very ordinary bridge with little to commend it to any tourist.
View from a distance and walk on!

If you are a 'the sound of music fan' drop by this bridge across Salzach. After singing raindrops on roses and before singing do re mi, Maria and the children crossed this bridge. If you are coming from Mirabell garden, going across to Residenzplatz, take a photo from the Mirabell side to be able to see the Residenz side so that you get the same view as the sound of music.

It appears many people are "locking" their love here. If your sweetheart is a musician, then this bridge is for you. Otherwise, this footbridge bridge offers a Kodak moment and serves its purpose (to get to the other side).

Pretty plain structure as many have stated; only of note for Sound of Music fans where Fraulein Maria & kids walk off it on the north side, in their old drape clothes.
