Great ski area with around 100 km of slopes that can be skied in the so-called Tauernrunde. The 26 lifts take you to the slopes between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (61 km blue, 35 km red, 4 km black). If you like it 'challenging', the 'Gamsleiten 2' slope is a challenge. The infrastructure in Obertauern is excellent, the signage is very good and you can find your way around very easily straight away. Obertauern is a 'snow hole' and therefore there is always enough snow. However, you shouldn't always expect sunshine, there can quickly be a few days of poor visibility and fresh snow here. Day ticket for adults (as of March 2024) costs 59.00 euros and offers very good value for money. Very good skiers should be aware that there are no long runs here like in glacier ski areas or in Switzerland (e.g. Davos or Zermatt). Clearly recommended with the option of getting straight from the hotel to the slopes, so great entry options.

An excellent resort with top-notch skiing facilities! The professional setup ensures a seamless skiing experience, with reliable snowfall every year. The restaurants are delightful, offering a variety of delicious options to suit all tastes. After a day on the slopes, the entertainment is fantastic and adds to the overall vibrant atmosphere. I visited ski center with my brother and our four kids (6, 9, 10 and 11 years old), all good skiers for their age. With a 4-hour ski pass we could ski around all mountains but couldn't do more than 50% of ski pistes. The best snow condition among 6 different ski centers of the area (Grebenzen, Lachtal, Turracher Hohe, Fanningberg, Kreischberg). The weather on 28th December 2024 was perfect. When I visited the ski center 5 years ago with bad weather the experience was not so good. One of the best ski centers in the area for families. Difficulties only to find parking place for our cars.
