The Hauptplatz is a central location in Linz, with nice buildings, close to narrow medieval streets. We enjoyed going on foot from place to place.

Hauptplatz (main square) is a nice historical place in Linz which several small restaurants and bars. Tipp: if you visit Linz in November/December, there is and "Advent Market" where you can buy things our enjoy Glühwein and a nice sausage.

Beautiful square in the heart of the city. Lots of places to eat and drink. There was an ongoing festival when I visited on 10 Sep which made the whole place a lot more fun and lively.

Town squares in old European towns are almost worth walking through. You get some flavor of the place, even if it's from centuries past. This town square is large and open, and it is distinguished by what isn't here. There's no church. Lots of large...More

You don't even notice you are in a square. There is not enough place to sit and no interesting building to look around. The restaurants there are not good. Also there is barely space for bike parking

Very interesting with lots to see including a statue that dominates. Various cafes that sell the famous Linz cake. Also notorious for house where Hitler appeared to first celebrate the annexation of Austria

As far as we know the ships dock close to the Hauptplatz. It is a few minutes walk from the docking area to the Hauptplatz. Leave the ship and turn right - you should see the Hauptplatz after a short walk.
