Castle built in the 13th century. Only walls really exist and have been incorporated into an excellent museum which deals with regional Austrian history. Worth s quick visit. Nice restaurant also.

We discovered this museum on our last day in Linz. What a surprising delight! There was a special exhibit on display from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence with numerous outstanding paintings. It was also surprising as to its size, four wings surrounding a courtyard on multiple levels along with a restaurant. Some of the wings include an armor exhibit, technology... More

This museum is nothing special. Not well organized, no clear way / direction through the museum, also not well marked where you should go next. It's all in German language only, so not very foreigners / turists friendly. No central theme through the castle, just a mish-mash of everything, some parts are even repeating. Apart from nice views from the... More

Although housed in a modern-looking building, the museum is a treasure trove of ancient art! Make this your starting point and keep aside atleast 2-3 hours to leisurely stroll across this place. There is so much it offers, including a view of the city.

I visited Schlossmuseum on my last day in Linz and had to keep looking at my watch in order to get to the train station on time. If I had known just HOW good and big the collection was, I would definitely have counted in more time. It is excellently curated, has English information in every room and caters to... More

We actually didn't get into the Museum, but we knew that before we went (it seems all the museums are closed on Mondays). But it has a great views of Linz from the terrace. Well worth the trip for the photo ops alone.

This museum is packed with interesting exhibitions! Each floor has so much to see. There were two special exhibitions we enjoyed. One on beauty and the other on wwii and the years following the end of the war and how it affected Linz. Wow.., the only thing I wished was that more explanations had been provided in English for some... More

First off, this place is huge and has a good mix of historical items and modern. But for me, it's the fact that a lot of the older, delicate items are not behind a glass case. They are available to see in there full glory. I particularly liked this has you could see the imperfections and feel inchs away from... More
