The northern pillar is the Rock of Gibraltar at Gibraltar, and the southern pillar has been identified as one of two peaks: The Pillars of Hercules are the promontories that flank the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar.

Linking Europe and Africa and history from the ancient world worth a photo but the best bit here is the view of Africa and the start of the Mediterranean Steps is nearby

This isn't anything overly special. Quite croweded but some good views - but nothing that you wont get (or get better) from up the rock. The pillars themselves are a nice photo oppertunity but nothing out of the ordinary. Long walk away from rest of the rock attractions too so be prepared to walk a long way if coming for these outside of tour.

Getting here is easy for able bodied folk. Not possible in wheelchairs as too steep. Great views across to Spain and Africa.

Wonderful views across the sea to Spain and Morocco and some of Gibraltar below. This is where our taxi driver bought our wrist bands and map to access the Nature Reserve area and all of its attractions. Toilets are available here.

Took a long walk and lots of steps, but was worth it. Literally standing at the end of Europe, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean.

We enjoyed the view here. We saw a macaque here and also watched a pair of Barbary Partridges from nearby.

Good point to set off walking from (£5 walking ticket required to walk into the reserve), however it is possible to take photos from before the ticket booth.

Clean toilets here too.

Walked to the monument of the Pillars of Hercules, seemed a busy tourist spot, not really much there apart from the monument. Next to the entrance to the Nature Reserve.

It was part of a tour we did with GIB tours. It was the least exciting of the various stops we made that day.

One pillar in Gibraltar and one Pillar in Morocco or so the Greek Mythology of the gates to Hades and the Pillars of Hercules claimed. A small statue with good views. It is a little out of the way in Gibraltar and easier to get to by car rather than walking as there is no footpath on the road. Worth a quick stop ..... there is a WC there so extra point for that.
