On the lookout for something to visit as the storms had passed, and heard about the catacombs, wasn’t sure what to expect. For a free site I was amazed. It was just beautiful in the winter sun, to stand there, with no one around, makes...More

A short walk up from the seafront, the first thing you see is an old gnarled tree covered in mostly faded fabric strips which turn out to be offerings for the 'curative' powers of the saint. Sensible shoes are needed to negotiate the steps down...More

Well worth stopping as you walk passed, right on the road, look for the ribbons in the tree. If you go right down be careful of the last few steps, I ended up with a wet foot as the water was so still and clear.

Situated on the side of the road leading from Paphos Harbour to the old town, Ayia Solomonis Catacombs are fascinating. Easily spotted as outside is a tree with thousands of votive handkerchiefs and cloths tied to it. Down a steep and uneven set of stone...More

Thank you. We did find them last year. Also a large area being newly excavated behind some houses. Looking forward to seeing how they have got on when we return in October.
